One procedure, 15–30 trainees, loaner headsets, results in 4–8 weeks.

The best pilot candidates are high-risk, high-frequency or hard to practise on live equipment. Start with one procedure, one cohort, and measured before-and-after results in 4–8 weeks.

What trainees practise

  • Check the entry permit and every isolation before opening up
  • Test the atmosphere for oxygen, flammables and toxics, at every level of the space
  • Set up ventilation and keep monitoring while people are inside
  • Agree attendant duties and how entrants and attendant communicate
  • Walk through the rescue plan before anyone enters

Every step follows your own SOP and sign-off criteria.

Mistakes the module catches

  • Entering on a single or out-of-date gas reading
  • The attendant leaving the entry point, or going in to attempt a rescue
  • No rescue arrangement in place before entry
