The best pilot candidates are high-risk, high-frequency or hard to practise on live equipment. Start with one procedure, one cohort, and measured before-and-after results in 4–8 weeks.
Request the pilot brief Next: Lockout/tagout (LOTO)What trainees practise
- Confirm the line contents and hazards from the P&ID and your SOP
- Isolate and lock out both upstream and downstream
- Drain, depressurise and purge the section
- Verify zero pressure before the first break
- Wear the right PPE and position yourself out of the line of fire
Every step follows your own SOP and sign-off criteria.
Mistakes the module catches
- Relying on a single closed valve for isolation
- Opening without verifying the line is depressurised
- Standing in the line of fire at the first break
